ANGEL IN THE SHELTER
During WW2, when I was an eleven years old, I remember huddling with my mother in the air raid shelter. As the bombs fell, I would constantly pray to God that nothing bad would happen to us. I was of course very scared. Then a man entered our shelter, he was tall and dark and I couldn’t see his face. ‘Don’t worry, I will protect you’, he said and stood in the doorway.
At that moment, a V2 rocket hit the corner of our street. Despite the loud bang and commotion, I felt completely calm. To this day, I believe that the mysterious stranger was God or a guardian angel that came to protect us. What do you think?

Of course, he could have been someone such as a policeman or night warden who came into your shelter when he needed to quickly take cover. However, I have heard many stories from people who claim that they saw angels on the battlefields or with them in their shelters.
